Telling Queer Stories: Producing New Musical Theatre with LGBTQ* Characters

As part of LGBT+ History Month the University of Wolverhampton is delighted to present a talk with Liam Gartland (Gartland Productions, GradFest), Ameena Hamid (Ameena Hamid Productions) and Matt Powell (MP Theatricals).

Dr James Lovelock is joined by Liam Gartland, Ameena Hamid and Matt Powell to discuss how we can create the infrastructure for new musicals about LGBTQ* characters to thrive. Liam, Ameena and Matt will talk about their recent work in the West End, the Fringe and in regional theatres including recent productions of I Could Use A Drink, The Wiz, The Regulars, Snowflake and Is He Musical? as well as considering how we can promote queer musicals in a post-pandemic theatre industry.
