For LGBT+ History Month this February, we’re hosting a full day of events celebrating queer history, creativity and activism.
1.30pm – 3.30pm Workshop
Poetry Workshop with Simon Maddrell. Explore poetry as a form of expression rooted in LGBTQ+ experience. No experience needed.
3.45pm – 4.45pm Film
IRIS on the move: When Love Broke the Law (12A)
From forbidden kisses to real-life revolution, this double bill shows that love has always been our greatest act of defiance.
5pm – 6.30pm Panel Q&A – Poetry and Panel discussion
- Simon Maddrell – writer, poet and activist
- Jonathan Blake – activist and founding member of LGSM
- Emily Sargent – director of Jackie (When Love Broke the Law)
- Berwyn Rowlands – IRIS Prize Festival Director
7.30pm – 9.30pm Film: Pride (15)
The true story of solidarity between LGBT+ activists and Welsh miners.
