Anchor Hanover is England’s largest not-for-profit provider of care and housing for people in later life. This year, to celebrate LGBT+ History month’s theme of Poetry, Prose and Plays, a writing competition was held which was open to both colleagues and residents. Here Anchor Hanover share three of their winning entries.
Jay Crowter, a care assistant who wrote one of the winning poems said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have joined a workplace that is so LGBTQ affirming… and even more delighted to have won the LGBT+ History Month writing competition! It’s been a while since I sat down to write a poem so I relished this opportunity.”
