Why Did Government 'Sit on' LGBT Report for 17 Months?

A damning report on the experiences of LGBT youth in Northern Ireland’s schools has just been published, but critics are asking why it took so long.
The report, which reveals that 67% of LGBT people feel unwelcome at school, was completed in April 2016 but has only just been released by th Department of Education.
The report, commissioned by the Irish Department of Education, reveals that LGBT young people also feel that the school has a negative impact on their wellbeing, there is bullying and that teachers are unwilling or unable to support them.
Critics also claim that although the report was commissioned to research LGBT youth experience in schools, it was prohibited from making recommendations.
