Protesters at the Indian High Commission urged the Indian Parliament to repeal Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, dating back to 1861, which criminalises homosexuality following a Supreme Court ruling that it still applies.
According to Peter Marshall: The protest was a relatively quiet affair while I was there, with stewards in pink scarves and less than a hundred protesters, among them Peter Tatchell and a number of Indians as well as others from the LGBT community. Some of the protesters who had placards, including Peter Tatchell, left the pen for photographs a few yards away in front of the main entrance to the Indian High Commission.
