Speak out against the gender related bullying – Sponsored Silence from Gender Intelligence

Bullying can take many forms and when young trans people tell us that they feel consistently frightened and anxious about what their fellow students and teachers might say or do we know there is more work to be done. We are carrying out Stop Our Silence – a sponsored silence fundraising campaign to raise money and awareness around the bullying and mistreatment that so many of our young transgender and gender variant people face day to day in schools, colleges, and universities around the country?
K.J.Gallon Gendered Intelligence Volunteering Scheme (GIVS) offers an opportunity for any person or any gender to get involved in the work carried out at Gendered Intelligence. Our volunteers at GI have been working hard to get the sponsored silence up and running. K.J.Gallon is a volunteer at GI and is taking part in the 24 hour silence. To sponsor K.J. Embry and Skip
Embry has been a member of Gendered Intelligence for a number of years and his Dad Skip has been incredibly supportive – both of Embry and of Gendered Intelligence. Embry and Skip will both be taking part in the sponsored silence as they are keen to show their support and raise awareness. As well as attending the GI Youth Group, Embry is currently accessing the mentoring scheme, where Gendered Intelligence works one to one with a young trans person within their educational setting. Embry has also been a participant in the GI’s Anatomy project and the Who Am I? – Hacking into the Science  Museum Project (watch this space).
