The event will be hosted by comedian Barbara Nice.

With ‘Music’ as the theme, this year’s Pre-Launch event promises to be one of the best ever.  The day begins with morning music workshops for secondary and primary schools in the Barber Institute of Fine Art and Tiverton Primary School. The secondary workshops focus on LGBT musicians Benjamin Britten, Angela Morley, Ethel Smyth and Bessie Smith. The primary workshops are led by assistant head teacher Andrew Moffat and a primary singing specialist.

The evening activities begin at 5pm with networking, drinks and stalls on the mezzanine level in The Bramall Music Building.

The main event starts at 6.30pm in the concert hall and promises to be both informative and entertaining as ever. Whatever your musical background and tastes there will something – ranging from opera through musicals to punk – to appeal to you, alongside speakers including Councillor Brigid Jones, the Britten-Pears Foundation and our own LGBT History Month Chairs.
