England and Wales took another step towards joining Argentina, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway,
Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Sweden and several sub-national jurisdictions in Brazil, Mexico and the USA after supporting the bill to allow same-sex civil marriages by a majority in the Commons of 275.
At just before 7.30 pm GMT on the 5th of February the Commons voted 450 for and 175 against the Bill, which now goes to The Lords to face another battle.
