Milan Dumps Twin over Homophobic Bill

Milan city has voted to cut ties with its twin in Russia – St Petersburg – until it gets rid of its anti-homosexual propoganda legislation muzzling LGBT groups and free speech. The motion to suspend the 45 year old relationship between the two partners was proposed by the Radical Party’s Marco Cappato and was comfortably passed by the city council, although Silvio Berlusconi’s party, the PDL and the anti-immigration Lega Nord failed to support it.
Vitaly Milonov, speaking for the United Russia party, blamed the decision on socialists and the dominance of the gay lobby in European politics.
