Trans Day of Remembrance

Tuesday November the 20th is International Trans Day of Remembrance, a day when people gather in locations worldwide to memorialise the victims of transphobia. The list of TDoR events in the Uk is below.

Will hold a Transgender Day of Remembrance event
on Tuesday, November 20th at 2pm
Cambridge University Botanic Gardens (meeting at the Station Road gate, by the War Memorial)
The Gardens are wheelchair-accessible, and wheelchairs are available to loan.
The Gardens contain indoor and outdoor areas; we will choose which to use based
on the weather on the day. Gender-neutral bathrooms are available.
We will read names, and members of the community will give short readings or performances of music
(please get in touch if you would like to be involved). Weather-permitting, we will launch sky lanterns.

We are having Trans Rainbow flags flying in Barrow town centre
for the day, and in the evening, a presentation marking the event,
then a wander around the town.

on Saturday 17th November at 8pm
in St Stephens Church Norbury and Thornton Heath.
If you would like to contribute a reading or poetry, please e-mail or tell someone when you arrive.
As last year, we hope to plant flowers in Croydon as a positive memory to those killed.

Will be holding a Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil
on Sunday the 25th November 2012 at 3.45pm
in Sackville Park (off Canal Street, Manchester).
There will be a candlelit minute’s silence and reading
of the names of the deceased by the Beacon of Hope and will
last for approximately one hour.
All are welcome; feel free to bring a candle, flowers or another
appropriate tribute.

It will be held just outside Southampton Central Library,
close to the Southampton Central railway station.
The plan for the evening includes a candle light vigil,
