1 in 4 LGBT Young People Assaulted

According to research carried out by the Metro in Greenwich one in four young lesbian, gay, bi and trans people have been assaulted and a half have been threatened with physical assault. The results also reveal that self-harm rates are much higher among LGBT youth than among heterosexual and cisgender youth.
The survey is ongoing and is being carried out as part of the Youth Chance Project, managed by The Metro’s Dan Baker. In response to the results, Baker said; “Maybe Britain is not as tolerant as we thought.”
Dan Baker will talk about the project, which featured in The Independent on Sunday on November the 4th and was reported on the Today programme on Radio 4 on Monday the 5th, will present the survey and its findings, as well as inviting more people to respond, at the LGBT History Month prelaunch on November the 15th at Bletchley Park
