UK Black Pride Events during Black History Month

UK Black Pride has collaborated with a number of community groups to bring to you an exciting array of talks and film screenings for October’s BHM, this is by no means it!  Please also see the official BHM website for events across London.  Let us remember, that every day is Black History for us! Celebrate our Black History, acknowledge those before us, be proud and stand tall!
Thursday 11th October
Stud Life
The New Black (TNB) is proud to honour Black History Month with a specially hand picked season of films: From 1st – 25th October. TNB is here to ‘educate a generatio. Together, our supporters enable us to fulfil our mission to ‘educate, entertain and empower our audiences’. Full programme here.
 
Stud Life is a hot funny sexy queer urban drama. It has been sel
ling out worldwide and is back in London for one night only. Stud Life has made audiences laugh, cry and shout at the screen. This film shows life as lived in the queer streets of inner city London.
 
UK Black Pride Director Phyll Opoku-Gyimah will be speaking in the Q&A panel after the screening.

Wednesday 17th October
Kaleidoscope Trust Lecture
Kaleidoscope Trust is having their second inaugural Leadership lecture on Wednesday 17th October. The lecture will be delivered by David Kuria, one of the founders of Kenya LGBT group “GALCK” and an HIV activist. David will be running for the Kenyan Senate in the forthcoming election on the platform of Equality, Human Rights and Protection of vulnerable populations.

Sheldon Larry’s audacious, raunchy and big-hearted musical with songs by Beyonce’s music director Kim Burse and choreography by Beyonce’s dance master Frank Gatson Jr. takes us into the fabulously funky world of voguing.
