A thoroughly easy and enjoyable comic read for the summer about 2 gay London lads who up sticks and set up a Bed and Breakfast establishment up here in North Norfolk. The story is an assortment of titbits from the journals of the author and the guestbook of the ‘bootifull bootique’ hotel they set up, replete with hilarious comedy scenarios, show-biz/celebrity scandals but without ever naming a name, as well as horrendous mishaps with miscellaneous builders and dreadful guests.
Holly Lodge is a real Bed & Breakfast in the real village of Thursford, Norfolk. Mike and Robert are the real proprietors and all these tales and mishaps are true. Sadly the lads have given up this Mecca in Norfolk for celebs and others, but let’s hope that whatever Robert went on to do gave him enough scope for another book as good as this one.
