Fans Unite to Support LGBT in Kiev

The LGBT Fan Embassy for Euro2012  opened June 22nd in Donetsk, the Ukraine.  Clare B Dimyon  MBE, Founder of Pride Solidarity, unfurled the rainbow flag that has been on parade three times in the Ukraine during the UEFA Football Championships, once in Kyiv with Sweden’s fans and twice in Kharkiv with Dutch fans.  The flag was supplied by Dutch LGBT from the “Wooden House” AIDS organisation in Groningen.
The LGBT Fan Embassy is located with the French and Spanish Fan Embassies, who have been extremely supportive of LGBT and concerned to hear of the dreadful events of KyivPRIDE 2012 and the fact that the Ukrainian parliament is discussing a “homosexual propaganda” law in the period of the Euro 2012 championships, which will make it illegal for ANYONE to tell the TRUTH about “homosexuality”.
Clare Dimyon said:  “Ordinary Ukrainian people are feeling very hurt by the BBC Panorama programme which broadcast the worst underbelly of Ukrainian society as though those are the only people in Ukraine. I have found them to be one of the kindest most hospitable people I have ever encountered and was delighted to meet the Mayor of Kharkiv to congratulate him!  It becomes very easy to explain to them how bad this law is, that LGBT would be forbidden by LAW from contradicting the mis-information about them.
“A German fan sold me his ticket to the Quarter Final so I am looking forward to that and the winner will play here in Donetsk on 27 June…. and we all know that 27/28 June is the birthday of PRIDE… 28 June is Ukrainian Constitution Day, which is a rather glorious coincidence…and I will be celebrating that and wishing all Ukrainians a constitution and laws that really work FOR them”.
