LGBT History Month co-chair Tony Fenwick talked about the work of LGBT History Month and Schools OUT at the end of April in Norway, following Educate & Celebrate’s Elly Barmes’ presentation at an LGBT Rights seminar in Turkey at the end of the previous month.
The seminar, held in the Norwegian coastal resort of Kristiansand, piloted the work of the Rights against Intolerance in an open-Minded World (Rainbow) project with the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA) of which Schools OUT is a partner. The project seeks to create a pan European toolkit with films – made both professionally and by students – and lesson plans to combat homophobia, transphobia and other prejudice-based discrimination through challenging stereotypes.
