Let's Hear it for the 80s

Remember when we all had a friend or friends dying of AIDS? When we marched with the miners to stop Thatcher destroying the working class? When the Daily Mail and the Express and The Sun hated us so much they urged the government to impose Section 28? When Jenny lived  with Eric and Martin (but not for long) and Frankie was out but Boy George and George Michael were in? All these things happened in the 1980s and a new blog has been created to remind us how this bleak decade impacted on our lives and was largely responsible for the world we have inherited.
Gay in the Eighties: from fighting for our rights to fighting for our lives is a blog by Colin Clews, who seeks memorabilia from the decade that he is convinced was a milestone in the development of the LGBT community. It’s the decade we got sick, the decade we got mad and the decade we got angry. To check out the blog go here
