Gay Murdered By Nazis in Chile

An openly gay Chilean student left brain dead in a neo-Nazi attack on March 3rd has died in hospital in Santiago. Daniel Zamudio, 24, had been beaten, including a very violent blow to the head, his body burned with cigarettes and scarred with Nazi symbols. Part of his ear was cut off.
“He is a victim of homophobia, of the hatred that some have towards those who have a different sexual orientation. Today, we consider him a martyr,” the leader of the Homosexual Liberation Movement (MOVILH), Jaime Parada, said.
Four men who were arrested have had their charges changed from attempted murder to murder.
Chileans are said to be shocked at the attack and the media has been following Zamudio’s case since he went into an induced coma.
