Third Footballer this Year Charged over Homophobic Tweet

A third professional footballer has found himself in trouble over homophobic tweets just half-way through the second month of 2012. Following Oxford United’s sacking of  Lee Steele over a homophobic tweet regarding LGBT History Month patron Gareth Thomas and Leicester City fining Michael Ball ditto Anthony Cotton, West Ham’s new signing  Ravel Morrison has been charged following a tweet in which he called someone a “f*gg*t”.
Morrison, who has only been with the club since the end of January, was said to have been responding to a ‘fan’ who made a racist comment and accused him of being addicted to crack. To read more go here
