An advocate of LGBT rights and supporter of same-sex marriage has gained a place in the government following the resignation of disgraced Defence minister Liam Fox. Chloe Smith – known for being the youngest MP in parliament, has secured the post of junior economic secretary in the coalition government.
A Tory, Smith supported LGBT Pride in Norwich this year and voiced her support for same -sex marriage. She replaces Justine Greening, who in turn replaces Phillip Hammond at the transport department.
