For the first time, The BBC is making a conscious effort to support and highlight LGBT+ History Month.
Items have been posted on the main website, along with articles on programmes such as ‘Football Focus’ throughout February.
“BBC Sport will be celebrating the amazing achievements of LGBT+ athletes, and the impact they have made beyond the realms of sport, throughout the month of February.
As part of LGBT+ History Month, BBC Sport will aim to educate about the reality of attitudes towards the LGBT+ community in sport, as a group and individuals, and how those attitudes have changed over time.”
