THOMAS RODRIGO (17th May 1957 – 19th August 2023)
A personal message from Professor Dr Rainer Schulze (Professor (em) Modern European History, Department of History and Human Rights Centre, University of Essex) someone with whom we have worked closely on several LGBT+ History related projects over the years:
My partner and best friend for more than 25 years died on 19 August. I was privileged to be with him until his final breath. Every journey has to end at some point, but this journey ended much too early: we still had so many plans. I am incredibly sad, but at the same time also happy that Thomas’s battle against the cancer that devoured him is over.
