A beautifully told heterosexual love story set in World War 2. Themes include love, betrayal, loyalty and patriotism all told in a romantic and terribly subtle British way. The novel moves between many locations including the secret service, Bletchley Park and the code breakers and a baronial Scottish Castle. It is an easy read, slow paced and very well crafted, the perfect novel for reading on the beach or deck of a cruise liner; whichever is your inclination.
