Outhouse London presents The Darlings – London’s lesbian community theatre
troupe In Simply Wonderful Directed by Barcy Cogdale
An afternoon of personal stories created by individual members of the
Darlings troupe this storytelling performance will explore the joys of
‘sisterhood’ – a celebration of lesbians wherever their lives have taken
them.
The Darlings are not professional performers, but do everything they can to
be splendid at what they do. The Darlings are an extraordinary group,
telling stories of their lives and sharing lesbian heritage. Currently
Lesbians from 25 to 70-plus are part of the group. Lesbians from 18 to 108
are welcome to join us. (New members are always welcome!) During the past
five years the Darlings have presented over 50 performances and have
appeared in five specially commissioned plays. They have performed in
several London venues and toured to far flung corners of the UK having a
wonderful time, sharing lesbian history, heritage, humour and their hearts!
The work the Darlings make is enormously moving, often funny and hugely
entertaining.
Today’s stories and performances have been created by individual troupe
members during a six week workshop series.
