The Lost and Found Room – Celebratory Oral History Society LGBTQ SIG Event

‘The LOST AND FOUND Room’ – CELEBRATORY LGBTQ SIG EVENT for LGBTQ HISTORY MONTH
23rd February 2021, 3.30pm
The next Oral History Society LGBTQ Special Interest Group event will be held online on Tuesday February 23rd 3.30pm-5.30pm. It will consist of a number of presentations by SIG members and friends and a question and answer session, followed by a short meeting addressing LGBTQ SIG business.
We are going to celebrate LGBTQ History Month by exploring work that demonstrates how oral history can retrieve historical gaps in knowledge and scholarship.
We’re very excited to have Amanda Littauer joining us from the US, where she works at Northern Illinois University as Associate Professor in the Department of History/and Centre for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality.
Erum Nazeer Dahar will also be presenting. Erum is currently undertaking an interdisciplinary PhD at SOAS (The School of Oriental & African Studies) in the fields of organisational and management theory, gender studies, and sociology of religion.
And we are honoured to be joined by Professor Alison Oram, who is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Historical Research, University of London and Professor Emerita at Leeds Beckett University.
If you are a SIG (LGBTQ Special Interest Group) member, you will receive the Zoom link nearer the time by email, but if you are not a member but would like to attend, you are very welcome to do so! Just email admin@claresummerskill.co.uk to let us know and you will also be sent the Zoom link.
