From Me to Us

“I can’t pinpoint the exact moment I realised I wanted to have children. I think I always put it to the back of my mind, because I was single, because I was gay. I mean, they are two pretty big barriers to traditional conception…”

Inspired by the 2019 law allowing single father surrogacy, From Me to Us is Wayne Steven Jackson’s playful and poignant performance letter to a future child from their future father. Streamed online by Battersea Arts Centre, the show opens discussions about LGBTQ+ parenthood whilst documenting political change against a backdrop of autobiographical experiences. Watch it any time between 10 – 16 May. Tickets are Pay What You Can.
